See yourself as the lighthouse looking at the ocean of your emotions. I heard this metaphor in one podcast today. It is such a good way of putting things into perspective and making a shift in thinking. We always internalize our emotions and try to hide them. Once we turn around like a lighthouse and scan the view before us, much comes to light. It gets me thinking. Just like the outside forces affect the water’s surface, making it turbulent and rough, we experience similar waters. Rough and turbulent. Why can’t we switch on the lights and look? Look, and let it all go, pass away. Stand there observing, bringing to light everything in its transitoriness. Darkness, after all, is nothing but an absence of light. We are here momentarily. So are all the ocean waves. They come, they go. We ought to stay afloat, nevertheless.
