The Art of Design
“To intend for a definite purpose”, this is one definition that has particularly struck me.
Design has to have a purpose for sure, and it better be a definite one too. A tea cup designed to savour tea, a spoon to enable me to eat, a door meant to open and of course close smoothly. All these are simple examples of everyday designs so to speak.
And to think of it, nature has designed a lot of stuff, including plants and animals for a definite purpose. The leopard’s spots are there for a reason and so are the peacock’s feathers. Imagine a world designed without a purpose…what would that be like? Ever wondered? What if the mind couldn’t think and the tongue couldn’t tell.
Rise and Shine
I want the buttons to look more Vista style!
Add more gloss. More shine. More shine, and make it shinier still.
The world and the things in it, be it our home appliances or our fancy cars. Be it the new operating system or our newly coloured hair…it all seems to be getting shiner by the day!
But do we ever try and polish our inner selves, so that it shines with all its well deserved gloss.
Maybe, we are too engrossed in acquiring the gloss that the world has to offer that we forget to slow down and introspect. Friendships last a lifetime, well so to speak…but acquaintances are there now and gone tomorrow. They only need to see our gloss and move on. Talk to us if they find us glossy enough. Stop by for a cup of coffee, if the gloss lasts a bit longer. Then they move on…to find glossier pastures

Design and its purpose??
..have a bit more elaborative view on this..have you ever wondered that the most stunning designs in the world of nature are without a purpose…lillies in a pond, sparkling flox flower or even the patters of a cactus, a sunset after a rainy day, a smile on a child without a reason…and actually even the mind that you referred to produces the best in the state of ‘no thought’ and actually for that matter you may realize the same with some of your own works of art: not in terms of the appreciation it gathers: but just stunning as it is! catch you more on this sometime later:)
